Speaking about Patsaka Nyaminyami Community Radio one cannot assure that it can also have radio programs that can accommodate more than 30 people. As we all know that Mai Chisamba show is known nationwide and its broadcast on ZTV but Patsaka Nyaminyami Community Radio Initiative that is no yet given a broadcasting license still compete to produce programs that can be rated among other best programs like Mai Chisamba Show.
It seems as if 2016 PNCR has moved forward to produce programs that can shock people when they hear that the government has not given them an opportunity to enjoy the airwaves. PNCR has remained steadfast regards their goal of providing information, education and entertainment to the community of Kariba. On the 20th of February 2016 PNCR produced two radio programs under Community focus with the topics.“HOW RESIDENTS ASSOCITIONS CAN UTILISE COMMUNITY RADIO INITIATIVES and TOURISM IN CONJUNCTION WITH COMMUNITY RADIO.”
The major idea of the talk-show was to assess if residents associations are making use of Community radio initiatives as well as the tourism sector. On the first talk show which was hosted by Ms Sandra Mukanhairi, with panellists being The Director of Patsaka Trust and PNCR Mr John T Chirinda, Mr Kudzai Karekwaivanani Kwangwari The Programs Manager for ZACRAS and Mr Samu Mawawo The Executive Chairman of Kariba Incorporated Area Residents and Rates payaers Association (KIARRA). The second talk show was hosted by Mr Darlington Zishiri on “Tourism and community radio,” with three panellists who include Mrs Shupikai Magaso from Women in Tourism organisation, Mr Laiton Kandawire from Kariba Publicity Association being Board member responsible for Information Publicity and Mr Jonh T Chirinda the Director of Patsaka Trust and Patsaka Nyaminyami Community Radio. They were also invited guests from different wards in Kariba urban.
Participants from different wards who attended the talk show.
The two talk shows were meant only to address to the community at large that Patsaka Nyaminyami Community Radio is there to inform, educate and entertain the community of Kariba but this cannot succeed if the people within our community don’t contribute to share developmental, grievances and problems the citizens are facing in the community of Kariba.
The future of PNCR shall continue to organise such programs that are there for the people to express their views through talk shows and other activities. The recorded talk-shows can be accessed by requesting them on CDs at the offices and it’s for the community. You can visit our website patsakacommunityradio.org or call us on ………………….
